Weston Beach Race 2021

Weston Super Mare, UK | October 2021

After a years sabbatical, Weston Super Mare played host to the 38th edition of the world famous Weston Beach Race.

The unique event which takes place on Weston-super-Mare beach transforms the beach into a 6 mile course with a 2km start straight with some impressive dunes for riders to tackle, including the biggest dune which sits at the Royal Sands end of the beach. The track crew move an impressive 200,000 tons of sand to construct the course.

Here are a selection of photos from official press photos from the weekend.

Reece Jones (#1) battled to retain the 85cc race win.
The best thing about Weston? the carnage and the stories!
This is Alex Baraona, riding in his 21st Weston Beach Race, and he was doing it solo – no mechanic, no support team, just him, his bike and a wheelbarrow with his tools. That was until the guys pitting next to him realised and they helped him refuel, clean the bike and get him back out on track to finish the race. Total strangers united by one insane race. Gotta love Weston!

Hunt & Williams (#324) claimed the Sidecar win then promptly left for London to run the London marathon the next day!
